Hunger Games Trivia Contest

Teens competed in a Hunger Games Trivia Contest for their chance to win a movie gift card to use to see The Hunger Games in theaters this past Thursday. Each teen represented a different district chosen at random before facing off in this unique Trivia Contest. 

There were 3 rounds of questions. After each question, teens had to navigate an obstacle course and before being able to answer. When they got it right, they could advance and keep their spot. When they were wrong, they had to pull from a chance drawing to find out if they were alive, wounded or dead. 
The obstacle course: tributes had to turn in a circle 3 times before zig-zagging through chairs, into a tunnel & sit in the chair to answer the trivia question before their opponent!


Just like The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, there could only be one victor! Check out these pictures from the program:

Library Scavenger Hunt for Kids

Kids ages 5 & up will team up for this scavenger hunt around the library after school on Tuesday, February 28th at 4:00 pm. Unscramble messages, decode puzzles, hunt for missing book characters and other activities to unravel a mystery in the library! Think you have what it takes to crack the code and solve the mystery?

Register online, stop by the Children's Information Desk or call the Pemberton Library @ 609-893-8262. Registration is limited to 20.

Beat the Librarian

Look for this banner if you're stopping by!
Good at games like Battleship or Cooking Mama? If you're up to the challenge and think you can beat a librarian, stop by anytime between 1:30 and 4:00 pm at the Children’s Desk on Sunday, January 8th & challenge Miss Theresa to a game! If you win, you’ll get a prize! Open to all ages. Registration is encouraged, but not necessary.

Miss Theresa is the Children's Librarian and she will be waiting for a challenge at the Children's Information Desk. Not sure who Miss Theresa is? She's on the Beat the Librarian banner! =>

The games available for this program are Battleship, Cooking Mama on the Wii, Guess Who?, Memory, Mancala & back by popular demand, the Egyptian game Senet. You can pick which game you would like to play!


Registration is encouraged, but not necessary. Register online or stop in!

Teen Book Club: The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan

The next Teen Book Club will be held on Friday, December 30th.  The Teen Advisory Board for Grades 6-12 chooses the titles for discussion.  Be prepared to discuss The Last Olympian, the 5th & final novel in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan and enjoy a pizza lunch.  Registration is necessary for the pizza lunch.
